For Christmas I received a book (in honor of my grandfather) entitled
'We Were There: Normandy' by, Hal Buell

In it a man named Will Rogers was quoted saying,
"…To talk of old times with old friends
Is the greatest thing in the world"

I'm pretty sure he's right.

Did you enjoy the book?

Has anyone documented your grandfather's stories? If not, they need to. Things have a way of fading if not passed on.

My husband was a USMC doorgunner in Vietnam. He does not talk a lot about it, but when he does I make sure I get it on paper so our grandson will have his stories to pass on.
